After two days of sickness.
We've all been out. Mostly me. Although, Dylan would claim he's got it worse I am sure. And Lou's been dealing with a lingering cough and I figured she could use some rest.
Luckily though a) we're doing much better now and b) it was some kind of cold/flu-ish thing, not a stomach bug. I'm saying that because had anyone even thought about maybe throwing up we'd been banned from Christmans with the family for sure.
Still got a present or two left to figure out. Another batch of chocolates. Gotta make the pumpkin pies. They were a hit on Thanksgiving, even though I forgot the condensed milk.

disconnected
A weekend
without internet and TV. Our router broke. Means you can’t work from home.
Means you can’t watch cartoons. Can’t google answers when you’re playing board
games to pass the time. I’ve made one batch of Christmas chocolates. The second
kind I’m going to make calls for candy canes and apparently those are not as
easy to find as one might think. But I’ve only checked three stores yet.
There’s still hope.
We’ve also
had some time to talk. About everything that’s really hard and how we feel
about the transitions made. It’s been heart opening and difficult. As of right
now, we’re not quitting but we’re not committing. To life here, that is. The
only thing we’re really committing to is each other. I guess that’s how it has
to be.

Keep calm and yoga on
You know how they say you have to lead by example and kids will do what you do, not what you say?
I think that's fairly accurate and munchkin is definitely taking after us, in language, actions, etc. For example, her mom does yoga. At home.
So she does yoga.
On the floor in the middle of the IKEA entrance during peak holiday shopping....
Some shoppers sure got a kick out of that one. And complimented her three legged downward facing dog.

small feet and fat legs
Make it hard to find boots that fit.
She is seriously wearing the same socks I bought her as a 6 month old. They were big then, they're getting a little small now. But still.
Did I mention her head is in the 96 percentile.
It's a wonder she doesn't fall over, when you think about it.

Daddy's girl
Now that
Lou is in preschool, Dylan doesn’t spend quite as much time with her anymore.
Which is probably good for both of them.
He’s been a rockstar though.
I’m impressed and jealous.
Not of the work, cause it’s been a lot of work, but of the everyday routine they’ve developed. Just the two of them. I’ve never gotten that with her. I’ve never had an everyday routine where it’s just me and her and parks and poops and cries and naps and dirt and snuggles.
She has three names for him. Daddy. Pappa. And Duaawn, which is her take on Dylan and used only when she needs him to really listen up.
